Well, Metacritc"s score is almost spot on. This film has tons of problems. And you can tell this film was rushed so badly and almost no heart was put into it. The characters have little personality, and if you"re going to this film to see the cleverness and for all of the great Well, Metacritc"s score is almost spot on. The characters have little personality, and if you"re going to this film to see the cleverness and for all of the great memorable characters, you will be very disappointed. Almost no humor is present, and Sokka doesn"t even tell one joke in the entire film or make a sarcastic remark, which is what his whole character is about!! The effects are mediocre at best, and could"ve been so much better. I don"t know why the say some of the names differently, which is stupid. The charcters hardly resemble themselves from the series except Katara and Sokka which made me happy, but then again Sokka isn"t funny at all, and all Katara does is cry and protect Aang. I hated all the things they changed in this movie too; it just ruined it and insulted my intelligence.. The only scenes I appreciated and liked isthe beginning in the South Pole, the blue-spirit scenes and the very end. And the action scenes you see in the trailers, is basically all of the action that"s in the movie, which just ruins it even more. Shyamalan didn"t care about this movie at all or very little. The entire first season crammed into 90 minutes is not enough for this film, and if he cared about it, he would give the fans what they wanted and make it a 2 1/2 hour film with an extended edition for the die-hard fans and actually have character-development and a story that resembles the actually first season by 70% atleast... It just makes me sad that this film was made, it should"ve never been created in the first place, and did nothing for the fans and it tells you Shyamalan cares more about money than us... I"m so angry; I could"ve written a screen-play ten times better than this!! And I wish I could direct a new-film just to get it right!!! The only reason it deserves a four which is being nice, is that it looks like some effort was put into it and atleast they got some characters that resembled their animated counterparts and it was somewhat related to Book One and gave me inspiration to write my own screenplay to redo this horrible masterpiece, and making go back to watching and appreciating the animated series even more. Have super low expectations if you see this... Short Review: It"s not a good film and it will disappoint many Avatar fans, and the characters have no personalities and the film is way too rushed. Also has lots of stupid changes and Shymalan is a horrible director. Don"t see this in the theaters, rent it if you"re a fan or you just want to entertain and calm down some kids or just for a good pop-corn film. I would"ve liked this film more if I didn"t see this in the theatres, because I expect such a better experience. Have low expectations in be in a good mood for a better experience. 4/10. Shorter Review: Just rent it if you"re a fan with very low expectations. I don"t have much to say about the acting since they"re just kids and haven"t really started an acting career yet. And is mostly Shyamalan"s fault for not being a better director. … Expand.
You talk about not liking the filler episodes. Though personally i think filler episodes make things feel more natural. It feels like a more normal story. Sure long term plot is always the main objective and what people are after, but if every episode takes huge strides to further the long term plot, the story feels forced. Because in real life towards progress isn"t towards anything is linear, it meanders a bit. Even on huge missions / objectives, life happens in between. Also upon first watch, you don"t know that some of those episodes are dead ends, and it also makes it feel even more important when huge long term discoveries are made. This entire movie: The Uh-vatar Ung once meant General Eeeroh when his nephew captured him, because he lost an Agni Keeeeeey where he got an almost invisible scar. Soooooka eventually came to rescue Ung with his sister who has no personality. The end.

Aang learns that the Fire Nation started a war a hundred years ago, just after his disappearance. The Fire Nation"s opening move in its campaign for global conquest was to launch a genocidal attack on the Air Nomads which drove Aang"s entire people to extinction, thus making him "The Last Airbender" left alive. He realizes that he must fulfill his destiny of becoming the Avatar and return balance to the world by defeating the Fire Nation. Aang sets out to master the three unlearned elements: Water, Earth, and Fire. With Katara and Sokka, Aang decides to head to the North Pole to find a Waterbending master. Aang travels to a Crescent Island in the Fire Nation after contacting Avatar Roku in the spirit world. Upon instruction from Roku, he travels to the Crecent Island to a Fire-Sage temple wherein he contacts Roku on the solstice. Roku tells Aang that he must master all four elements and end the war before this time. Aang is told that Sozin"s Comet, which Fire Lord Sozin used as a power supply to start the war, will return in the coming summer, giving the Fire Nation enough power to ultimately accomplish victory. For most of their journey to the North Pole, the group is pursued by Zuko, a banished Fire Nation prince and son of Fire Lord Ozai who is obsessed with capturing Aang in attempt to restore his lost honor since being banished and burned by his father for speaking out of turn. This man (thatgreygentleman) is one of my favorite creators and his hot take on Zuko’s coronation is amazing I literally cannot rest and it’s all because of this tiktok People just starting to watch A:TLA for the first time: The bending is really cool, but couldn’t the waterbenders technically just bend the water inside of people? Like their blood? I’m pretty sure technically they could. Well I guess it’s a kids show so they probably won’t go into it haha. People who have seen the show already and know what happens: how long does it take zuko to convince his staff that he isn’t gonna slap, punch, beat, banish, or otherwise assault them? that they aren’t about to lose their job (or life) over a spilled cup or broken vase? that he’s not trying to trick them when he says they can relax the ornate and complex flattery each time they leave the room? that he means it when he bans corporal punishment in the palace (and out of it) and that they really can come to him if someone forgets that rule? that they haven’t upset him or wronged him when he asks to take his meal without the full serving staff of twenty watching him? zuko is sensitive, even when he tries not to be, and watching these people be so afraid of him would break his heart. but that also means we gets to see it when they begin to open up to him. firelord zuko who’s feeding the turtleduks when a toddler comes running over. she almost topples into the water but zuko sweeps her up before she’s in any danger. he holds her in his lap and shows her how to feed them gently. when the mother comes careening out screaming for her child she stops short at the sight of zuko and collapses into a bow, head to the floor. she begs forgiveness but zuko shakes his head, and offers his hand for her to stand. he hands over her daughter, asks the girl’s name. his guard calls him back into meetings so he leaves with a smile and a bow to both of them. it’s the first time a child hasn’t been afraid of zuko here in the fire nation, and he smiles all week firelord zuko who spends months trying to win over the kitchen staff enough the let him make his own tea. they refuse at first (as much as one is allowed to) and stand on principle. but zuko is patient, so patient, so he begins to visit the kitchens once a week. he tells the head chef he’s going to come, it’s not a surprise. and he just thanks the staff, asks their names, maybe mentions an earth nation dish he had that’s native to a region who’s dignitaries are coming. once he’s been a few times he asks about their lives. simple things, never much more than yes or no answers; he doesn’t want to force them into speaking more than they’re comfortable just because he is their firelord. but 10 months in, and he finally convinces the guards, tasters, and head chef he can make his own tea. the head chef still insists on checking the tea as it comes in (special shipment from the jasmine dragon of course) because he’s been working in the palace for a long time and he’s seen many leaders but zuko is the first firelord he’s actually wanted to serve. and he’s seen this 18 year old kid trying so damn hard to help the palace and nation heal, tying so hard to win favor with his dishwashers, that he wants to keep safe. he may not prepare the tea, but not a leaf gets to the firelord that isn’t personally checked by him. and in a couple years, the permeating sense of fear and dread begins to leech out of the palace. maybe the maids start humming in the corridors, maybe the washer women laugh and talk as they go about their business, maybe the royal dressers don’t flinch at the scars all across their young leaders skin anymore maybe the country is being run by a smart, kind, genuine young man who works tirelessly to restore their honor as people of the fire nation. zuko brings music, art, poetry, dancing and life back to the fire nation. he teaches the wisdom he learned from the sun warriors and old masters: fire isn’t just hate and death. it can be life, light, a sun blazing inside you and he fosters that light in his people. so they can shed the last 100 years of hatred together and foster a new nation of peace Okay, so I just got shampoo in my eye (luckily my blind eye; it could have been a lot worse) and as I was grabbing said part of my face in complete agony, it hit me…that’s exactly how Zuko got his scar. Not the ‘shampoo’ bit, the ‘grabbing the face’ bit. Ozai put his hand to Zuko’s face is what I’m getting at. I guess part of me always knew that, because his scar does look a lot like a handprint: But still, whenever I thought about the agni kai, I’d imagine Ozai standing over his thirteen-year-old son and firing haphazardly like: But no, I think he brings his hand right up to Zuko’s face. Which would explain, you know, this: At first, I thought that he backhanded Zuko, like Azula does here. But when I looked up these photos, it hit me (no pun intended) that we’ve probably seen the exact move that Ozai made: Just at a different angle, because I imagine that he was standing over Zuko, due to the whole symbolism of height differences. Still, I think he slowly brought his fire-encased hand up to Zuko’s face and held it there, burning him, just like he was about to do with Aang. The difference being that Aang is able to deflect the attack: Which he was able to do, because he learned from Zuko. I swear this show has more circles than a cheese grater… I’m watching atla and this is my first impression zuko, candid cam I’ve been really happy that AtLA has finally dropped on Netflix USA - I know a lot of people haven’t seen it before, and I’ve been watching it virtually with some friends who haven’t either. I hope yall can enjoy it! Please see if you haven’t already! Apart from some episodes from season 1, I’ve only seen it once while it was airing on tv the first time all those years ago, but it had such an impact on my life! And on our culture and western animation especially. I’m pursuing animation now, actually:D For this one I really wanted to practice with acting and facial expressions, and I feel like I’ve learned a lot.
